College Planning

five students smiling at cameraWe know that high school and postsecondary planning can be both stressful and overwhelming. There is just so much to know! We are here to help. We host a series of college nights geared towards specific grade levels for parents and students to come and access our expertise and help alleviate that stress.

College Visits

Throughout the school year different colleges will visit DHS. These meetings are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the college and a great time to ask questions of the college representative. 2025-2026 Visits

Dual Enrollment and AP Credits

Dual Enrollment courses and AP (Advanced Placement) test scores taken at DHS can count as college credit toward your undergraduate degree.

How colleges accept these credits varies. We strongly recommend you:
  • Speak directly with the admissions office at colleges you're interested in.
  • Use Transferology to research how the credits from dual enrollment will transfer.
  • Dual Enrollment courses which are designated as GT Pathways courses, where you earn a C- or higher, are guaranteed to transfer and apply to GT Pathway requirements in AA, AS and most bachelor's degrees at every public Colorado college and university (Find more information on the GT Pathways website).
  • Use College Board's AP Credit Policy Search to determine which AP scores will give you college credit.
