Welcome to the Durango High School Parent Teacher Organization

The Durango High School (DHS) Parent Teacher Organization’s (PTO) mission is to support the teachers, staff, and students in their journey to becoming the top performing public school in Colorado. We are committed to enriching the educational and social experiences for the students of DHS, as well as fostering a positive work culture for the staff.

The DHS PTO promotes and encourages communication between parents, teachers, and school administration to work collaboratively. The PTO organizes fundraising efforts that focus on supplemental classroom supplies, teacher appreciation and student-led organizations/activities to enhance a feeling of school and community spirit.

2025 Mardi Gras Gala and Silent Auction information (Accessible text version)

The DHS PTO Annual Gala and Silent Auction will be held at The Powerhouse Science Center (1333 Camino Del Rio, Durango) on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Mardi Gras theme. This adults-only party includes catered heavy hors-d'oeuvres, free Ska draft beer, entertainment, a cash bar, and access both to the online silent auction and to exclusive in-person-only auction items (new this year). Festive Mardi Gras attire is encouraged!

Please note: This year, we have two types of tickets available for purchase:

An event ticket that covers the cost of the event for each attendee and includes access to the online silent auction and the new in-person-only auction of select items. The early bird ticket price of $60 is available now through Sunday, Feb. 2. After that, ticket prices will be $75 and will be available for purchase through Wednesday, Feb. 12.
An online auction–only ticket for $25 that includes a link to access the online silent auction, but does not include access to the Gala.

DHS PTO No Fuss Fundraiser exceeds goal

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated to our DHS PTO No Fuss Fundraiser in fall 2024. Thanks to your generous support, we exceeded our goal of $15,000, with a final donation total of $15,356.29!

These funds will be used to benefit the DHS community in the following ways:

Teacher and staff recognition and appreciation
Campus improvements
Classroom grants
Education projects and field trips
Student events and school spirit
