INFORMATION

Native Graduation is a special event for our graduating seniors of Durango School District 9-R.  With assistance from our Title VI program and the Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC), we gift each of our graduates with a Pendleton robe/shawl.  Past events have included honor songs by a drum group, special guest speakers, indigenous entertainers and food.  Previous venues that hosted this event were Blue Lake Ranch, Fairgrounds Event Center, Southern Ute Museum in Ignacio, the Demon Stadium, and the ballroom at Fort Lewis College.  Food has been provided by catering or potluck.

NOTE: graduates will NOT wear their cap and gown to the Native Graduation; traditional/contemporary INDIGENOUS ATTIRE is encouraged.

DHS GRADUATION: 22 MAY 2026, Friday, 6:00 PM MDT at Demon Stadium
(with cap and gown)

(previous year's Native Graduation program for reference)
