Community wide ECG drive at Impact Center

The drive is April 26,  4:00-7:00 p.m. and April 27, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

We have trained DHS Health Science Pathway students and community professionals performing the ECGs and then a Cardiologist reading the results. It is also a fundraiser for HOSA as well as an opportunity for Health Science Pathways students to work towards their Certified ECG Technician certification that is offered through the Health Science Pathway.

This project was developed to provide a low cost non-invasive way to screen and identify cardiovascular health issues prior to having symptoms and to reduce the chances of catastrophic heart problems for all ages.  This isn't something that is done as part of a regular sports physical or annual visit with your primary doctor and we are seeing more and more preventable cardiovascular issues that an ECG can diagnose.  Other ways this is cool is it is the perfect intersection of health science education at DHS, creating awareness to heart health as well as making a positive health impact on our region.
