*UPDATED* Opportunities for Seniors and Families Planning for Post-High School

We hope everyone had a restful and wonderful winter break. The end of 1st semester is coming quickly. As of today there only 87 school days for seniors! It is so important to stay focused and motivated.
 
FINALS SCHEDULE
The schedule will be as follows:
January 17th Period 1 - 8:15-9:15; Period 4 9:30-10:30; Period 7 10:45-11:45.
January 18th Period 2 8:15-9:15; Period 5 9:30-10:30
January 19th Period 3 8:15-9:15; Period 6 9:30-10:30
 
SENIOR PORTFOLIOS
Senior portfolio has been embedded in Monday advisory. This is a requirement to graduate. Seniors, it is important that you attend. Please see your advisory teacher for more details.
 
APPRECIATION
Seniors, please be sure to send a "Thank you" to staff who supported your application efforts by writing a letter of recommendation.
 
NEED A TRANSCRIPT?
If you need a transcript, please come by the Post-Secondary Center (counseling office) and complete a transcript request. Please give two weeks’ notice so that we can ensure that your transcripts arrive in a timely manner.
 
SENDING TEST SCORES
Students are responsible for sending in SAT or ACT test scores to all
colleges. Log on to the student account at Collegeboard.org (SAT) or ACT.org (ACT) and request official scores be sent to complete the college application process.
 
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE
 
DEF Scholarships are open for applications (See scholarship list below)
 
The Durango Education Foundation offers scholarships with various criteria and award amounts from $1,000 to $10,000, to seniors graduating from Durango 9-R high schools (Connections Academy online students by special invitation only). The deadline to apply is February 1, 2018 and
notifications will be made later that month. Criteria documents are available from counselors at DHS and Big Picture High School, online at www.durangoeducationfoundation.org (What We Fund – Scholarships), or by contacting the Foundation at (970) 385-1491.
