Ean maintains a high GPA, with AP Chemistry and Math among his favorite subjects. Ean says, ”AP Chem is amazing, it’s a fun science class. And Ann (Tidwell) is a really good teacher.”
He likes math because it is straightforward. He likes the cleanliness of the subject.
In addition to classwork, Ean runs track and is on the Varsity football team, where he plays cornerback and receiver. In the summer, Ean volunteers as a referee with Durango Youth Football, (YAFL), and enjoys watching the 2nd-5th graders learn about football and teamwork.
Ean was not aware that he’d been nominated for the Outstanding High School Student Award, “My mom and teachers kept it a surprise. I went on to a Zoom call without any knowledge about what it was for, and they told me I’d been selected. I was very surprised!”
Ean is looking forward to his Senior year, and wrapping up his class requirements and focusing on college. He is considering engineering in college so he’ll spend time next year finalizing his decision and researching and applying to colleges. “It’s going to be exciting,” he says.
