Denise Tulley, parent of a DHS graduate, gave the keynote address and the Cozad Singers performed an honor song for the graduates who were each presented with a Pendelton blanket. The Title VI graduates who were honored were: Thomas Barnes, Nathaniel Begay, Ethan Casias, Jackson Dahly, Joseph Gonzales III, Joseph Kee, Logan Petago, Ouray Watts, Adriana Ahuatzi, Mariana Arteaga-Salinas, Melanie Begay, Nataylia Handerson, Madelyn McManus, Jacques Morales, A'niya Richards, Mirah Tulley, and Leah Wesley.
This annual tradition was started in 2008 under the leadership of Bruce LeClaire through the Title VI (then Title VII) Native American Education Program to provide a graduation ceremony rooted in cultural symbols and traditions. To be eligible for the Title VI program, either the student, their parent, or grandparent must be an enrolled member of a tribe.
